Feeling Like A Failure? 13 Things To Remember
What’s the point in trying when it’s only going to fail anyway?
I’m tired of trying and failing! Of putting my all into it for it just to fail. I’m fed up with it. I can’t cope with something else not working out. Why bother?! I’m not getting the break I need from the universe. The right doors are NOT opening for me. Hope isn’t enough, it’s not getting me anywhere.
Are any of these thoughts familiar?
I’ve experienced all of these thoughts, many times over. I’ve failed so many times and it has made me feel quite crappy. To the point where my dreams and visions feel pointless, hopeless, helpless, and I tell myself I just have to accept that I won’t be achieving them, that they’re not the right path for me, that I’m deluding myself and need to carve a more realistic life for myself.
One time, I heard myself voicing these thoughts to my husband, and the part of me that doesn’t like to hear this drawl fall from my own mouth, sat up and elbowed me in the ribs. This part is the part of me connected to higher wisdom, the part that hears the voice and reasoning of a much higher consciousness. It jolts me to think again, to see things from another perspective, to take the time to re-evaluate that inner dialogue.
I took to my journal- the place I go to when my mind is doing a job on me. The place I go to when I want to let the voice of the angels speak through me. I decided to bring love to these failure thoughts. I wrote “how can I bring love to failure?” And here’s what I was shown...
Success is not final, and failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts
“I’m learning” - failing is not a defeat but an opportunity to learn and grow. Use it to develop and strengthen resilience and to get stronger
Failing has afforded me a better work/life balance. Leaving the stress of these situations behind has given me more time freedom and peace
I’ve not failed 10,000 times, I’ve successfully found 10,000 ways that will not work
You are not failing. You are learning and moving closer to your end goal.
Don’t get tired of failing. No matter how many times it happens, just try again. Giving up is not an option. Work out what hasn’t worked, why it failed, what you could do differently next time, and aim for those changes. Come back with a better strategy.
Don’t fear failure. Don’t be afraid of it.
What is the point? The point is that you will have done it for you. Or for your kids. If you were to die tomorrow, you would die without regret, without that desire burning inside of you that you were too afraid to express. You would be sharing what you’ve learnt and what you know, If you go for it, and try again, it could serve others. Everything you do creates a ripple effect. Even if only one person is affected by what you accomplish, that one person starts a wave.
Onwards and upwards. Let go of the pain of past failures. They are robbing you from the present. Every day, new possibilities unfold. Fully embody the present so that you don’t miss the new opportunities, and so that you can move forward. You have to let all of the past go. Forgive it all- the people, the situations, yourself and call on us (the angels) to help you
Change your inner dialogue. In order to let go of these failure thoughts you must change your inner dialogue about it. If you tell yourself you can’t do it, then you won’t do it. If you tell yourself “I can” then you will find a way. Talk to yourself in the same way that you’d talk to a beloved friend. Your words can either hold you back or propel you forward so choose them carefully and mindfully.
Don’t build heart walls. Learn to love all situations- the successes and the failures- unconditionally. Accept the failures and bless them and even say that they are good. See the blessing within anything and everything. Love yourself. This failure is not YOU failing, but the plan failing. You may be able to change the plan. Learn to love the trying, the process, the journey. Love and bless it all. Open your heart to it all.
Soar. Don’t stand in your own way out of fear and resistance. Embrace all of life and call forward all that it has to offer. Let good the past, of what has been, and bring a beginners mind to each day. Embracing the present. Imagine that each day you have been reborn and that you have a second chance, a third chance, a fourth chance, to make the most of your life. Live your life to the fullest, with your hopes and dreams at the forefront, taking risks, and stepping open-heartedly into new adventures.
I realised that although failure can be disheartening, disappointing and really bloody hard, it's also a powerful opportunity for us to practice openheartedness, gratitude, self belief, resilience, forgiveness, and growth. We could actually then embrace failure as a stepping stone on our journey to the good stuff - our unlimited potential and our dreams. Dont let failure stop you from trying again. Let it go, and use its memory simply as a step up another rung on the ladder.
