25 Small Things to Do to Be Happier in 25 Days

In a world that’s increasingly fast-paced and demanding, I’ve noticed a collective exhaustion in the people around me. They're feeling burnt out, overwhelmed, overworked, stressed, and low on happy vibes. Perhaps you’re just the same, seeking some lightness, and some relief from the constant hustle. I created this 25-day happiness challenge because I believe in the power of small, intentional actions to transform our inner world. When life feels heavy, we need simple yet meaningful practices that help us reconnect with ourselves again and reclaim a sense of joy.

It’s important to do something for yourself every day, even if it’s small. In fact, it’s often the smallest acts of care that have the strongest effects on our mental and emotional well-being. These practices aren’t about turning your life upside down in a quest for happiness—they’re about subtle shifts in perspective and energy that can lead to a more sustained sense of peace and fulfillment.

The Challenge

The idea behind this challenge is simple: for the next 25 days, you’ll choose one of the following small actions to focus on and complete. These actions are designed to nurture your happiness, lift your spirits, and help you feel more grounded. At the start of the challenge, take a moment to rate your happiness level out of 10, being honest with yourself about where you are. At the end of the 25 days, rate yourself again and notice what has shifted. Pay attention to what worked to lift your happiness and what didn’t. The goal is to learn what resonates with you so that you can integrate more of those practices consistently in your life.

Today, focus on grounding and energising with Mother Earth. Filling your body with life force energy and peace. Sit or stand comfortably with your feet flat on the ground and close your eyes. Imagine roots extending from the soles of your feet deep into the Earth, anchoring you securely. Visualise a warm, golden light rising from the Earth through these roots into your body, filling you with a sense of stability and calm. Next, picture a soft, glowing sphere of light surrounding you. As you breathe in, let this light infuse you with peace; as you exhale, imagine any stress dissolving into the light. Finish by focusing on the balanced energy you feel, taking a few deep breaths to centre yourself. This brief practice will help ground and refresh your energy at any time of the day. Try to do this as many times as you can throughout the day.

Ground & Energise

Pick one small area of your home—a drawer, a shelf, or a single corner—and declutter it today. Clearing physical space often mirrors a clearing of mental space. You’ll be surprised how much lighter you feel after organising even a small area. Take a photo and post it on your social media, tagging me in it so I can celebrate this success with you!

Declutter One Small Space

Try reframing negative thoughts today. Start by writing down a few that are troubling you, such as “I’m not good enough.” Then, use these four questions to challenge them: Is it true? Reflect on whether the thought is absolutely true. Can you absolutely know it’s true? Consider if there’s concrete evidence against it. How do you react when you believe that thought? Observe how it affects your emotions and actions. Who would you be without that thought? Imagine how your perspective would change without this belief. Finally, reframe the thought to a more balanced one, like “I have strengths and areas for growth, and I am doing my best,” to foster a more positive mindset.

Challenge Negative Thoughts

Take some time to look around a room you’re in at home today with new eyes, and as your gaze lands on your belongings, exclaim “wow, I own that”, “that’s mine” and truly appreciate how that thing benefits you in life and what it means to you. Do the same as you meet with people through the day - reflect on what your children, your husband, your colleagues brings to your life. Do the same with your work and other activities in the day- note how work means you get to live in a warm home and drive a nice car, for example. At the end of the day, write a long list of all the blessings you’ve noticed through the day. Share this list on social media and tag me in it so I can celebrate your blessings with you.

Practice Gratitude

Set aside a few minutes to journal without any rules or expectations. Light a candle, play some sooting music and write whatever comes to mind, whether it’s thoughts, feelings, or even random ideas. Journalling helps release mental and emotional clutter and opens up space for clarity and self-reflection

Peaceful Heart Meditation

Start the day with this small visualisation to foster peace and healing, sit or lie down comfortably with your eyes closed and take a few deep breaths. Place your hands over your heart and visualise a soft, soothing light expanding from your heart, filling your chest with warmth and calm. As you inhale, imagine this light growing brighter, bringing tranquility throughout your body. With each exhale, release any tension or stress into the light, letting go of negative thoughts and emotions. Repeat a calming affirmation like, “I am at peace” or “I am surrounded by healing energy,” to anchor this sense of peace and healing within yourself. Repeat this whenever you get a few minutes throughout the day.

Choose to enjoy eating meals mindfully. Think about what you’re putting into your body. Increase the amount of fresh, organic food you eat and limit ultra processed ‘dead’ foods. Slow down, focus on making the food look appealing on your plate. Choose a peaceful place to sit and enjoy your food. Focus on the taste, texture, and aroma of each bite. When we nourish our bodies with attention and care, we honour the connection between our physical and emotional well-being.

Nourish Your Body With Intention

Start or finish the day with a short chakra cleanse. To balance and cleanse your chakras in just a few minutes, sit comfortably with your eyes closed and take a few deep breaths to centre yourself. Visualise each of your seven chakras, starting from the base of your spine and moving up to the crown of your head. Imagine a radiant colour associated with each chakra—red for the root, orange for the sacral, yellow for the solar plexus, green for the heart, blue for the throat, indigo for the third eye, and violet for the crown. Picture each chakra spinning smoothly and brightly, absorbing healing energy and releasing any blockages. Breathe deeply into each chakra, and as you exhale, visualise any stagnant or negative energy being cleared away, leaving each chakra balanced and revitalized.

Clear & Balance Your Chakras

Spend a few hours away from your devices—no social media, no emails. Use this time to reconnect with something that brings you joy, like reading, spending time with loved ones, or simply being present in the moment.

Disconnect To Reconnect

This is a lovely practice to practice throughout the day. It’s called the ‘Triple Warmer Spleen Hug’. Sit or stand comfortably and wrap your left hand around your right arm, just above the elbow, and wrap your right arm around the left side of your body, placing your hand underneath your breast and against your spleen. Gently press your hands against your skin, creating a supportive hug. As you breathe deeply, visualise a calming energy flowing between your hands and spleen, soothing the Triple Warmer meridian (which helps manage stress and bring calm) and supporting the Spleen meridian (which aids in digestion and immunity). Hold this position for 1-2 minutes to help balance and harmonise your energy.

Yes, you deserve this. Take time to write yourself a letter filled with kindness, compassion, and self-love. Reflect on your strengths, your journey, and the ways you’ve grown. This practice builds self-compassion and helps you nurture a kinder inner dialogue.

Release Tension

Today, focusing on releasing tension. To do this we can use the healing power of colour.  Start by sitting or lying down comfortably with your eyes closed. Scan your body from head to toe, noting areas of tension or discomfort. Place your hands gently on these tense areas. As you inhale, visualise a warm, orange light flowing into the area under your hands, soothing and dissolving the tension. As you exhale, repeat the word “free” mentally or aloud, affirming that the tension is being released and replaced with a sense of freedom. Continue this process for several minutes, focusing on each tense spot until you feel a greater sense of relaxation and ease.

Today, take the time to engage in movement that feels joyful—whether it’s dancing in your living room, going for a walk, or doing yoga. This isn’t about exercise for fitness; it’s about moving your body in a way that feels freeing and energising.

Move Your Body With Joy

Our auras can become bogged down and damaged from an accumulation of negative energy. To cleanse your aura, and uplift your energy, start by standing or sitting comfortably with your eyes closed and taking a few deep breaths. Visualise a gentle, glowing light above your head, and imagine it cascading down around you, like a waterfall of healing energy. As the light flows, visualise it washing away any stagnant or negative energy from your aura, leaving you feeling refreshed and revitalized. Allow this light to move slowly around your body, from head to toe, clearing and purifying your entire energy field. After a few minutes, take a deep breath, feel the renewed clarity in your aura, and open your eyes, sensing a restored sense of balance and vitality.

Cleanse Your Aura

Today, spend some time creating, whether it’s drawing, painting, writing, or even trying a new recipe. Creativity allows you to express your emotions, release tension, and tap into a deeper sense of fulfillment.

Engage In Creative Expression

Offer a genuine compliment to someone you don’t know—a kind word about their outfit, their smile, or their energy. Or perform an act of kindness like making someone at work a coffee or getting them a chocolate bar or cleaning someone’s room. Acts of kindness create ripples of joy, both for the giver and the receiver.

Acts Of Kindness

Meridians are the energy pathways that flow throughout and around your body. They carry the energy from your chakras to the whole of your physical and etheric body. When these get blocked, you can feel out of sorts, unhealthy and dispirited. To cleanse your meridians, start by sitting or lying down comfortably with your eyes closed. Take a few deep breaths to centre yourself, then visualise a vibrant rainbow light above your head. Imagine this rainbow light gently descending through the top of your head and traveling through all the vast energy networks of your body. See it flowing through each meridian line—down your arms, across your torso, and through your legs—clearing away any blockages and revitalizing your energy pathways. As the rainbow light moves through you, feel it purifying and balancing your entire energy system. Continue to breathe deeply and visualise the light moving smoothly through your body for several minutes, leaving you feeling refreshed and energetically aligned.

Take a Mindful Bath or Shower

Turn your daily bath or shower into a ritual of self-care. Use Dead Sea salt shower gel or bath salt. Use aromatherapy oils such as lemon to cleanse and detoxify, lavender to relax and heal and frankincense for energy upliftment. As the water washes over you, imagine it cleansing not just your body, but also your mind and spirit. Breathe deeply, relax, and let go of the day’s tension.

Spend some time today dedicating a small area or corner of your home to peace and reflection. It could include candles, crystals, plants, beautiful ornaments or anything that makes you feel calm and connected. Spend a few moments there each day to reset and centre yourself.

Create A Sacred Space

Start the day with intentions for peace. Light a candle and place it in front of you while sitting comfortably. As the flame flickers, close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to centre yourself. Hold an intention or prayer for peace and happiness, such as, "May this day be filled with peace and joy. May I find happiness in the small moments and remain calm and centered throughout the day." As you say this intention, visualise a soft, glowing light radiating from the candle, enveloping you in a protective aura of serenity and contentment. Spend a few moments in this peaceful space, then gently extinguish the candle, carrying the calm and positive energy with you into your day.

Morning Candle Ritual

To invoke angelic support for a joyful day, find a quiet place where you can sit comfortably. Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and gently place your hands over your heart. Imagine a soft, radiant light surrounding you, and silently call upon your angels with a simple prayer: "Angels, I invite you into my space today. Thank you for guiding me towards happiness, offering your support, and helping me navigate any challenges with grace and ease. Thank you for surrounding me with your loving energy and illuminating my path with joy and peace." Visualise this angelic light embracing you, filling you with warmth and reassurance. Spend a few moments in this serene space, then carry this sense of angelic guidance and support with you throughout the day.

Angelic Energy

Start by scanning your body today to identify where you might be holding unhappy emotions or stress. Locate an area of your body where you feel discomfort or negativity. Let your intuition guide you to this area. Place your hand there. Ask this area what emotion is present—anger, fear, guilt, grief or anything else. Visualise this emotion and acknowledge its presence. Gently communicate with this part, letting it know that you are here to embrace and support it. Ask, “What do you need to feel happier or more at ease?” After receiving any insights or feelings, offer a supportive affirmation such as, “I am here to support you, and I choose to embrace peace and happiness.” Visualise this part of yourself becoming lighter and more relaxed, and take a few deep breaths to feel the shift towards greater well-being.

Happy Parts

Identify something that’s been weighing you down—whether it’s a past hurt, a fear, or a worry. Consciously decide to let it go, even if it’s just for today. Visualise yourself placing it inside of a balloon. Watch as you release the balloon into the wind. See the balloon carry your worry away, and feel the lightness that follows.

Practice Letting Go

Visualise Your Happiest Self

Before you start the day, take a few minutes to close your eyes and visualise yourself at your happiest. Your ideal self. How do you look? How do you feel? How do you carry yourself through your day? What decisions do you make? Step inside of this persons skin, imagine becoming her. Visualisation can be a powerful tool to shift your energy and align with the version of yourself that you aspire to be.

Take the final day of this challenge to celebrate your journey. Reflect on the small actions you’ve taken over the past 25 days and acknowledge the growth, however subtle. Treat yourself to something you love—whether it’s a walk in nature, a favourite meal, or time with a good book.

Celebrate You!

The Reflection: What Worked and What Didn’t?

At the start of the challenge, you were asked to take a moment to rate your happiness level out of 10...to be honest about where you are, without judgment. Now that you've come to the end of the 25 days, rate yourself again. Notice what practices lifted your spirits the most—was it the reframing negative thoughts, the gratitude practice, or perhaps creating a sacred space? Which activities didn’t resonate as much for you?

The key here is to do more of what worked. Happiness is an ongoing practice, not a destination. By weaving these small actions into your life consistently, you’ll build a foundation of joy, peace, and well-being that supports you even during challenging times. Your happiness is worth the effort. So take this challenge as an invitation to nurture yourself, one small act at a time.
