A Healing Crisis. What is it?
Most commonly, if you were to undergo Angelic Reiki or any other form of spiritual healing, you would walk away feeling lighter, rejuvenated and at ease. However, there are instances when individuals might have a different experience. Occasionally, healers receive feedback from clients who share that they feel worse after a session or are encountering new symptoms.
But why does this happen? Why might you not feel well after a healing session?
This guide aims to shed light on the reasons your healing session might not result in the expected euphoria and offers tips for post-session self-care.
What Is A Healing Crisis?
A healing crisis is a temporary worsening of symptoms that occurs when the human body has just undergone energy healing.
Experiencing a healing crisis can be a crucial part of the natural healing journey. Although it might feel uncomfortable and even cause some concern, it indicates that your body is actively engaged in the self-healing process. The intensity of the crisis can also vary depending on your body's sensitivity to energy. If you happen to feel unwell after energy healing, there's no need to panic. It's likely a sign that your body is operating exactly as it should during this transformative healing journey.
It's important to note that not everyone will go through a healing crisis after a specific therapy, and that's absolutely okay. Personally, I experienced a healing crisis after my first ever session, but I didn’t experience any healing crisis symptoms in subsequent others. Each person's healing needs are unique, and the absence of a crisis doesn't mean you're not benefiting from the sessions. Some individuals may have deeper emotional or physical issues to address, and the right circumstances, combined with a skilled practitioner, can eventually lead to a significant release of long-held stress or tension.
In my experience, a healing crisis occurs when our body is truly prepared to undergo a profound release and healing, and this timing is intricately tied to divine intervention. It's challenging to pinpoint when it might happen, but gradually, as we progress through layers of healing and address the root causes, it tends to manifest physically as a healing crisis. Although initially uncomfortable, the process significantly improves over time.
When the body finally let’s go, it's a mix of relief and exhaustion. After this process, you'll likely feel revitalised, lighter, and almost like a new person. The transformation extends beyond the physical – mentally and energetically, you may experience a significant shift in how you carry yourself and engage with the world.
Real, transformative healing isn't always a walk in the park. It demands our full presence, a strong commitment to personal growth, and the willingness to release expectations about what, how, and when we should be healing. Patience is a key player in this journey. True healing involves confronting the sometimes painful truths within ourselves, about others, or certain events. Embracing these truths, no matter how unpleasant, is a vital aspect of the healing process, even if it doesn't always appear graceful. When our body fully acknowledges these truths, it initiates a profound letting-go process, often resulting in a temporary healing crisis.
Symptoms Indicative of a Healing Crisis
Following an energy healing session, you might encounter signs associated with a healing crisis. These can manifest in various ways, such as:
- Pain
- Fever, shaking
- Skin breakout or inflammation
- Headaches
- Nausea, vomiting and gassiness.
- Extremely cold
- Toxic symptoms i.e aching joints, extreme thirst, headache
- Crying, distress
- Feeling low
- Clients’ original symptoms feel worse.
- Memories and negative thoughts re-emerging
- Fatigue
- Insomnia
- Nasal congestion
- Diarrhoea
- Feelings of depression or irritability
These symptoms will pass before the next session and following sessions will be more effective without these energetic blocks. Energy healing also has the potential to bring past issues that lay dormant in your body back to the surface. Previous illnesses might reappear as your body actively works to eliminate accumulated toxins. These will also pass usually before 21 days has expired.
Experiencing a healing crisis following an energy session might bring about more intense sensations than what you've encountered or sought treatment for in the past. Don’t let this put you off! These heightened symptoms are temporary and are part of a process aimed at rebuilding and nurturing your overall well-being, offering potential long-term benefits.
You may also feel generally unwell after having angel energy healing. This occurs when your body, burdened by a build-up of toxins that may have accumulated for years, begins a process of intense cleansing.
The initiation of energy healing prompts various bodily systems to collaborate in expelling waste products and toxins. This can become overwhelming as the detoxification progresses. It's crucial to understand that this phase is temporary, and once it concludes, your body is likely to emerge healthier and more resilient.
Why 21 Days?
When negative energy is leaving the body, it takes a period of approximately 21 days for that energy to pass from the depths of your chakras and meridians, out through the layers of your aura, into the ethers to be dispersed. As it makes its way out of the body it moves from a stuck, dormant state, to a more active state. For example, it may be that you never think about an old traumatic event that occurred many years ago. But then, suddenly memories of this past trauma start to surface again after you’ve had energy healing. This is because the energy of this trauma is working its way out of the body, from the depths of your chakras where it is held at a more subconscious level, to the outermost part of your chakras where you become consciously more aware of it again, to finally disperse away from your body and energy field, where it has been released.
Navigating Healing Crisis Symptoms After Your Healing Session: Practical Advice
Should you find yourself grappling with the symptoms mentioned above post-energy treatment, it's essential to speak to your practitioner. Your practitioner can give you personalised tips to help you through it. As energy healers, we will be able to give you chakra and aura-based energy clearing tips that can be effective in soothing and regulating the flow of energy. Confront what's happening within you. Acknowledge and engage with the process rather than resisting it. Establish a dialogue with your body. Assure it that the material can be released, let go of, and integrated without inducing a pain syndrome. Lean on your practitioner for guidance and support. Additionally, involve family members in your journey, requesting their compassionate care as you navigate through the healing process. Adopt a gentle approach towards yourself. Focus on consuming nutritious foods, prioritise relaxation and rest, and emphasize self-nourishment and self-care throughout the process. Trust in yourself and your well-being, even if your body feels unfamiliar or discomfort arises.
Navigating a healing crisis after a healing treatment is a unique journey for each individual. It involves a delicate interplay of physical, emotional, and energetic shifts, signifying a significant evolution and healing process. The discomfort experienced during this phase is not a setback but a transformative passage toward well-being. Ultimately, a healing crisis is a testament to your readiness for positive transformation, and the temporary discomfort paves the way for long-term benefits.
May your healing journey be filled with self-discovery, growth, and a renewed sense of well-being. Trust in the process, and remember that every step forward is a stride toward a healthier, more harmonious you.
